Sassuolo to Win

Reason for tip

Sassuolo have found some momentum and can extend Bologna’s losing start. The hosts have lost both of their league games this season without scoring, while the Neroverdi overcame Torino in the last round of fixtures and have been in good form in front of goal with seven goals across four games.

Sassuolo 2-1

Reason for tip

A 2-1 Sassuolo win stands out in the correct score market as that has been a common scoreline in their recent victories. Four of their last five Serie A wins have been 2-1 successes, while both of Bologna’s defeats this term have come via one-goal margins. The hosts are yet to score but they can break that run at least as Sassuolo have gone three games without a clean sheet.

Cristian Volpato To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Cristian Volpato scored in Sassuolo’s win over Torino and has also been on target in the Coppa Italia, he can add to his haul at Bologna.

Bologna vs Sassuolo Predictions

  • Sassuolo have scored in all four of their games this season (W2, D1, L1)
  • Bologna have lost twice without scoring in Serie A
  • Sassuolo have won three of their last six trips to this venue

Sassuolo can add to Bologna woes

Domenico Tedesco has endured a nightmare start to his reign as Bologna boss with two defeats and no goals scored, and his side could be on the wrong end of an upset when Sassuolo visit on Sunday.

The Neroverdi lost 2-1 at Atalanta in their Serie A opener but responded by beating Torino by the same scoreline in their last league game, and they’ve also come through two Coppa Italia ties.

Bologna have had two tough games as they have lost 1-0 to both Lazio and Atalanta. On both occasions they were arguably unfortunate, but they are playing a Sassuolo side who have managed to build some momentum.

The visitors were also unfortunate to lose at Atalanta and they were good value for their win over Torino. Sassuolo’s sharper attack could be the key here and they look good value as big price underdogs ahead of this fixture on Sunday.

The Neroverdi have gone three games without a clean sheet so Bologna can at least end their goal drought and a 2-1 win for the visitors has a chance in the correct score market. Both of Bologna’s defeats have been by one-goal margins this season and four of Sassuolo’s last five Serie A wins have been 2-1 successes stretching into last season.

Cristian Volpato only scored two goals for Sassuolo last season but the early signs suggest he will be more of a threat this year. The Australia international scored in the win over Torino and has also been on target in the Coppa Italia, he can add to his haul at Bologna.
