New York Mets @ Kansas City Royals
It’s a World Series re-match, where the defending champion Kansas City Royals play host to the New York Mets under very different circumstances. The Royals will be eyeing a third straight deep postseason run. They’ve retained their deep and versatile hitting line-up, the big question will be the rotation, and tonight’s starter, Edin Volquez is likely to be a big part of that picture.
The Mets have no questions about their pitching starting with Matt Harvey tonight. He’s known to relish these situations and he was a key pitcher in the Mets postseason run. They once again start as NL East favourites, but conversely their hitting line-up will come under scrutiny over the course of a 160-game regular season.
Reason for Betting Tips
There’ll be a big ceremony, they’ll be a lot of hype and we’ll back Harvey, in particular, to enjoy an extremely strong outing. The current Run Total is set at 7.5, we’ll back a strong individual betting option at Under 8.5. Expect bigger fireworks later in this series, but a little bit of a pitcher’s duel tonight.
Most recent games first – form from Spring Training:
Royals – LLLWLW
Mets – WLLLLT
The Mets won the opening game at Citi Field, but the Royals dominated the World Series, winning two games at Kauffman Stadium and backing it up by winning games 4 and 5 at Citi Field.
Kansas City Royals: They’re missing a couple of bullpen options, but seem to have a pretty solid unit in there based on spring training. Jarrod Dyson is working his way back into game action.
New York Mets: Zack Wheeler is missing from the bullpen, but the Mets start relatively healthy.
